How the audit works
A transparent snapshot of how AI answers selected customer questions. This is an API-based test, not a measurement of every ChatGPT user.
What we test
You choose your business, customer questions, countries, languages and repetitions. Each search is a new independent OpenAI API request with web search and an approximate country setting. Results can differ from the ChatGPT app.
Three separate signals
Mentioned: your business name appears in the answer. Recommended: it is explicitly suggested as a suitable choice. Cited: the answer links to your business website. A mention alone is not a recommendation; a link does not prove a visit or a sale.
Which answers count
We keep the original answers and sources. The analysis must support mentions and recommendations with exact quotations. Unclear or incomplete results are excluded from the relevant denominator rather than counted as “no”. Questions naming your business are analysed separately from discovery questions.
Repetitions and languages
The same question can produce different answers. Three, five or ten repetitions show variation within your chosen questions, not statistical certainty about the whole market. Prompts are translated into each selected language; translations remain visible in the report and may alter nuances.
A practical selection of markets
Region presets contain a small, editable selection of markets rather than every country. This is purposive sampling for an exploratory comparison: geographical coverage and differing language contexts guide selection. It is not a random or population-weighted sample and is not representative of Europe or the world. Country-language metadata is curated and may omit local languages.
Recommendations and limits
The report highlights questions where competitors appear and your business is absent. Suggested improvements are things to investigate, not proven causes or promises of future rankings. Source categories are based on the available evidence; unknown ownership stays unconfirmed.
Your data
Submitted settings, answers and results are stored privately. Authorised administrators can access them to provide support and improve the prototype. Reports in “My reports” are linked to this browser. Do not enter confidential customer data in prompts.
